Welcome to Hot Springs Village, AR
Welcome to Hot Springs Village!

Hot Springs Village (HSV) at 26K acres is the largest gated community in North America. HSV is located in west central Arkansas and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2020. We are surrounded by a National Forest, where the terrain is hilly and the people are friendly. We have 9 award winning golf courses, 11 lakes, 30+ miles of trails. We are self-governed with a Property Owners Association, that includes fire department, police department, water department, sewer department, streets and roads department, and other services provided by our by-laws.
This website aims to be your source for information about Hot Spring Village and the surrounding area: not limited to Lakes, Golf, Trails, Dining, Medical, Churches, Clubs, Groups, Entertainment, Lifestyle, Performing Arts, Amenities, Volunteering and Real Estate. We will link to on-line materials, periodicals, videos, self-guided tours, blogs and in-house published and maintained lists and guides.
Hot Springs, Arkansas, is located about 20 miles west of HSV on highway 7 and known internationally for its hot water springs. Hot Springs has a storied past beginning long ago as a gathering place for the area’s indigenous peoples, explorer Hernando Desoto, major league spring training with Babe Ruth, mafia “safe city” with Al Capone, thoroughbred racing and the current rebuilding effort per the included video “Putting the Hot back into Hot Springs”.
Hot Springs is a destination for activities at the “Diamond Lakes”, these are clear water lakes (as are the HSV lakes): Lakes Hamilton (8K acres), Catherine (1.9K acres), DeGray (13.4K acres), Ouachita (40K acres) and Greeson (7K acres). Diamond Lakes also includes the Ouachita River and its Caddo River tributary, and the Little Missouri River.
The horse racing schedule at Oaklawn Park, Casino and Hotel, goes from December to May, and the city sponsors a large year-round venue of entertainment and cultural events. Hiking and biking trails are open year-round and there are many across this area. Nature trails are highlighted throughout the publications linked in this web site.
Little Rock and Benton/Bryant are east of the Village on highway I-30. Little Rock is the capitol city of Arkansas with a Regional Airport and is about 50 miles from the East Gate. Little Rock offers a great variety of dining and entertainment and shopping opportunities. Also, on I-30 are the cities of Benton and Bryant, once separate cities they have almost grown together. These two cities offer expanded shopping and medical services about 20 miles away.
This web site will focus on Hot Springs Village and Hot Springs, and the above cities. Additionally, we will offer a section with information about other areas of interest within Arkansas. This information will be linked from varied sources.
If you are familiar with HSV, you may want to by-pass the “About Hot Springs Village” tab. Do however, take a look at Escape to the Ouachitas, a very informational periodical and prior issues are a click away. The emphasis of this web site is “Connections.” These “Connections“ point to the never-ending beauty and wonderment of Arkansas.
Thanks For Stopping by.
